Pregnancy can feel long in the moment, but before you know it, your baby is here and your bump is gone. Maternity photography gives you the chance to celebrate the strength, anticipation and beauty of this chapter before it becomes a memory.
What you need to know
Maternity sessions are best held when you are between 28-36 weeks and can be held in our Torquay studio, or at a location that is special to you. For the ultimate, timeless, tasteful images of this incredible time in your life, we offer expert advice on what to wear as well as offer you access to a beautiful maternity wardrobe so you’ll look and feel your best.
I feel honoured to be invited to take photos of you at such an amazing time, documenting your bump before it becomes a memory. Whether you choose to be fully clothed, bump out, underwear or nude, the choice is all yours, and all are done tastefully and modestly. I aim to capture your growing belly as naturally as possible.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When should maternity photos be taken?
I generally recommend between 34-36 weeks. That way your bump is beautiful and round but we avoid shooting at a time when you feel uncomfortable, are puffy or bubs arriving early.
What should I wear?
When you book I send you an information guide including my suggestions around what to wear for your session. I also have an amazing client wardrobe especially for the mum’s to be that accommodates and accentuates your bump beautifully and that I know photographs amazingly. Let’s face it, you don’t want to be spending a lot of money on a dress to fit your bump when you’re only going to wear it a couple of times do you!
Can my partner and children be included?
Absolutely! This is definitely a family affair and all immediate family are encouraged to be involved.
Where are sessions held?
Maternity sessions can either occur in my home studio, or on location. If you opt for location I will send you a location guide outlining my favorite locations to photograph at that you can select from.
How long does a session last?
These sessions last for 30mins and I find that this is all you need to capture this time beautifully.
